Even when we worship different gods, attend different schools, have different skin colors, we’re all supposed to share spirituality.
But you have a compute and Wikipedia: “Spirituality can refer to an ultimate or immaterial reality; an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of their being; or the ‘deepest values and meanings by which people live.’”
Yes, that’s Wikipedia! It continues on to say, “Spirituality is often experienced as a source of inspiration or orientation in life. It can encompass belief in immaterial realities or experiences of the immanent or transcendent nature of the world.”
Hmm! That’s extremely broad.Maybe you should read a book on the subject.
Princeton religion scholar Leigh Schmidt wrote one called Restless Souls that charts the development of American spirituality. Rather than the “New Age” phenomenon it is sometimes misinterpreted as, spirituality is an egalitarian, pluralistic realm of experience and thought has a unique and sometimes intellectually advanced role in American history. So, basically, Schmidt can’t (or won’t) really define spirituality, either.
We instinctively know that it’s mixed up in religion, but it’s definitely distinct from institutional religion. Can someone be religious without being spiritual? It’s completely plausible.Continue reading SPIRITUALITY MEANING 2→

The problem is this personality disorder is rarely seen as spiritual. Once this condition is entered into the medical books and is given a name; it becomes the property of the secular world of medicine.Doctors or psychiatrists have no idea of how to treat such a malady other than to prescribe medicine to slow everything down.
The case of the post traumatic stress disordershares the same problem. Twelve hundred troubled Canadian troops returned home from Afghanistan and most servicing psychiatrist admit to poor success from all the trauma of killing. The Canadian government has set aside $500 million to solve the problem, which appears to be unsolvable.Enter the Spiritual Solution!
The sociopath is a guiltless, empty soul. They are always on the prowl for potential victims. They are cold, conniving and above all, superficial.
Vodou or VOODOOISM SPIRITUALITYis primarily practiced in Haiti, New Orleans, and other locations within the Caribbean. There is great variation within Voodoo beliefs and practices. Many Vodou practitioners also consider themselves Catholics. Voodooism Spirituality involves spiritual beings.
As well as being the priest or priestess, the hounganacts as confessor, confidential and financial advisor, prophet and healer for the people in the community. But the houngan is more a folk healer with a considerable knowledge of herbal remedies who treats minor illnesses. While selling love potions and protective charms, including small bags to be worn for protection or for good luck, may be a lucrative side business for a priest or priestess, the primary occupation is still as a spiritual leader of his community. Voodooists especially places value on the strength of community for support.
Loa or Spiritual Beings
The spirits of death,The Guédé are really an enormous group of the loa who are the spirits of formerly living people. He is the one who controls the passage between life and death. In ritual, he is often offered black goats or chickens. The most frequently performed ritual in Voodoo is one that invokes a particular loa (supernatural beings) to offer food to him and seek his presence on earth.Continue reading VOODOOISM SPIRITUALITY 2→
Evil spirits of “sorcery or divination” were evident in the Old Testament: evil spirits are real in the New Testament but God has anointed us with new powers of deliverance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This is a Précis: YOUR LIGHT SHINES IN MY DARKNESS By Rev. Joseph Kane, OM
THE WORKS OF GOD AND THE WORKS OF SATAN
Satan dangles a brief pleasure before the victim in order to visit permanent grief on him or her. God asks of us a moment of suffering with the firm promise of an eternal reward.
Satan tempts us to sin saying it will do no harm, then tortures the person when he yields, with the lie that the harm is irreparable and the sin unforgiveable. God warns us beforehand that sin harms us, but offers us the bright hope of forgiveness and renewal.
By searching for forbidden knowledge, one unwittingly opens the door to one’s mind to an evil spirit. But how can God permit this? He does not permit this. The Bible is very clear on this point:
9 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 18:9-15
Remember what the devil said to Eve: 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5
The occultists always attract their victims with false promises: the lie. You will have power. We will inform you of your beloved deceased. The spirits will obey you.
Yet, the one who pretends to control the spirits sooner or later is controlled by them. How? They are told that obeying increases the channel of influence. Heavier things are asked and the slavery grows.
Have you observed anyone who is dabbling in any form of occult? Have you noticed that they actually lack joy — even nervous and fearful. You can actually recognize the signs of guilt, anger and resentment.
One person who had been a primitive pagan before being a Christian was asked what it was like: “It was living in darkness. The power of the witch doctor created an environment of fear, suspicion and murder.”
This form of slavery can be broken with a prayer of deliverance, where the person rejects the pact made and turns the area over to Jesus. In the Name of Jesus, the bonds are broken and revoked. The command to the spirits is to leave in the Name of Jesus and to go to the feet of Jesus without bothering anyone. The one who is delivered will feel a noticeable immediate feeling of peace.
Breaking Free From The Bondage of a Controlling Spirit
“…Oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them.”Psalm 54:3A person who has a controlling spirit, will try to control everyone around them, control their lives, decisions; and will in general do everything to have influence and power. They want to control their lives, and the lives of those around them, to get things their way. Deliverance may be required.
Now, we need to realize that there is a difference between one with a take charge ability and one with a controlling spirit. They are not the same thing. Many godly people are qualified people who know how to motivate others to work, and how to get things done. Those lead and control situations and needs in a godly manner.
Conversely, an oppressive controlling spirit wants power, and they will get it any way the can in order to advance their cause. They enjoy controlling others. They have a Jekyll and Hyde nature: vindictive in private, but innocent and charming in front of witnesses. This Hyde side is frequently described as “evil”. These angry people are clearly selfish. They also appear compassionate and well-meaning.
Like most emotional problems, there is a wide range of controlling “Hyde” personalities, but generally the Hyde side exhibits the following characteristics:
a control freak and has a compulsive need to controleveryone and everything you say, do, think and believe; and aggressively maintains the right to talk about anything they choose.
unable to trust others – this partly explains the compulsion for excessive monitoring.
quick to blame others.
often misses social cues.
appears to invite suggestions, yet these sociopaths inwardly dismiss each idea without considering its merits.
insecure and sees others as a threat; the threat seems to comprise a fear of exposure of inadequacy.
has no listening skills, ignores and overrules you.
has an inability to form stable relationships.
does not learn from experience.
holds deep prejudice (e.g. against other cultures and religious beliefs, foreigners, etc) but goes to great lengths to keep this aspect of their personality secret.
often has an overwhelming, unhealthy and narcissistic attention-seeking need to portray themselves as a wonderful, kind, caring and compassionate person.
How do you explain depressing feelings? Have you ever felt that the world is full of deception – nothing and no one should be trusted. Such notions, arises from disillusionment, distrust of one’s fellow beings, unhappiness and eventually, despair. Life has suddenly and devastatingly become devoid of meaning; we arrive at a time of life-threatening crisis. Meaning and purpose for life cannot be found. Where and to whom can one turn? Who can one trust to find the right answers? We seem to be ‘looking through a glass darkly’— looking at what was going on around us as if we were a detached observer – being there and involved but also feeling that somehow we weren’t really present. We cry more than any normal person should; we don’t care to eat, cook, or clean, we don’t care to see our friends. We can’t focus at work, or carry out our daily responsibilities at home. When we step back and think about it, we wonder, is there a point to being alive? It’s a frightening thought when we realize we’ve just admitted to ourselves there could be no reason to be here. There is a difference between being sad, and being sad for no reason. A sadness deep in your bones that does not want to go away after time and effort. It’s not something anyone wants to readily admit.
We practice making lists on why our life is something to be envious of, but that doesn’t help. It makes one hate oneself more for being sad when one has it so good. Then you say to yourself that you are a failure…and it spirals from there. It’s awful. It’s exhausting. It’s black.
People brush you off by telling me you that you need, “exercise and a combination of certain vitamins,” or, “think of the starving children in Africa without clean water to drink.”
So you realize that you need help. You struggle with showing any signs of weakness, but asking for help is not something you can easily do. You are not sure there is anything any one person could do or say; you suppose this is a dark valley ; you have to go at it alone. You can only hope you make it out the other side.
You are afraid that you will spend your life chasing happiness. But at times, you wonder if you are just running.
A friend expresses concern that one day your stress may actually lead to chronic illness or depression.
When it is dark, you can see the stars with GOD.
WHAT IS DELIVERANCE?
Deliverance is defined as “a rescue from bondage or danger.”Deliverance is often sought from evil spirits or the spirit of lust, jealousy, etc. We are told to “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.” 1 Peter 5:8,9
All aspects of deliverance are available only through the person and work of Jesus Christ:” When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, ‘Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!’” Luke 10:17
DO YOU NEED DELIVERANCE?
To determine if you are in need of deliverance, ask yourself the following questions:
Are you continually argumentative or contrary–usually on the verge of anger?
Are you violating, neglecting or causing pain in a relationship?
Are you practicing sin and can’t seem to stop?
Do you see a pattern of issues in your family, whether disease, poverty, anger, divorce, sexual perversion or other issues?
You are sick all the time and the doctors find nothing wrong. You could be dealing with a spirit of infirmity?
Are you having “spiritual” encounters, including recurring dreams/nightmares that you leave you fearful?
Do you sometimes sense that the problem isn’t you, but rather something in you?
Are you attracted to the occult. , e.g. Ouija Boards, Seance, Fortune Telling, Horoscopes, Hypnosis etc, or Witchcraft?
Have you experienced traumatic events that have impacted your life negatively?
Do you keep hitting the same wall?
DELIVERANCE AND EXORCISM
Exorcism is exercised in case of possession, while deliverance deals with the influences that are not full possession. There are very fewcases of possession as compared to ever pervading influence of different kinds of evil spirits affecting many people.
Trouble going to sleep or staying asleep: those suffering from insomnia average less than five hours of sleep a night. There may be a need for deliverance.
“He blesses the sleep of the just.”1 Samuel 2: 8 One in every seven Canadians aged 15 or older — about 3.3 million of us- have trouble going to sleep or staying asleep, according to a study released by Statistics Canada. The study, based on data from the 2002 Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS), found that just under one-fifth of these suffering from insomnia average less than five hours of sleep a night. Individuals who were extremely obese had higher odds of reporting insomnia than those of normal weight. The prevalence of insomnia among seniors was largely attributable to poorer health, not age. There may be a need for deliverance.
Life stress also kept Canadians up at night, the study says. Nearly one-quarter (23 per cent) of people who described most of their days as being either “quite a bit” or “extremely” stressful reported insomnia.
In the mist of all David’s troubles he still honored and praised God as his protector, his shield, and strength: “But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.”Psalm3:3
We don’t need to fear man or the schemes of the devil, but we need to depend on God and what He can do and say. He produces in us peace, kindness and lets us rest and guides us in all we do. We can fall asleep confidently trusting God for protection at night. Lay down our worries and pray before sleeping for a good night rest in him.How many of us do that? You won’t learn this until you start believing in God for protection in all areas of your life.Continue reading INSOMNIA DELIVERANCE ASSURED 2→
